Long Beach Grand Prix to Run in the Streets of Long Beach Today!
IndyCar Racing is back in Long Beach today for the running of the 38th Long Beach Grand Prix. Many of IndyCar’s greatest racers have raced at Fast Lap Indoor Kart Racing, such as Indy Champion’s Jimmy Vasser, Paul Tracy and Al Unser JR.. IndyCar at one time was the biggest racing show here in the states, with the Indy 500 as America’s top race with the LBGP running a close second in the 80′s and early 90′s. LBGP at that time would bring in over 300k people during race weekend, that number has since dropped to just about 200k. 2012 is on the rise for IndyCar and hopefully this will be a year to bring open wheel racing back to the top! Wether your a fan on the high speed oval, racing on city streets or a well designed race course like Laguna Seca, IndyCar open wheel racing is truly the purest form of racing. Almost all open wheel racers starting out as a kid racing go karts. If you want to see some great racing and a good time, head on down to Long Beach and check out the racing.
